One of my colleagues took it a step further.

Yesterday, I spent some time reaching out to my past clients who either have health issues or are of an advanced age, to see if there was anything they needed. I was on my way out for my own errands, and could easily pick something up or deliver something…

There were many thank you’s, but no takers. Not so far.

I considered spreading the net a bit broader, or perhaps a bit closer actually. Because I live in a new house and a growing neighborhood, I get new neighbors all the time and I have yet to meet most of them. This would be a great way to get to know who lives up my street, and to help someone during a time of need!

Then I read about one of my colleagues. Yes, this is the type of culture I work in.

To any senior citizen or person too ill to go grocery shopping. Please let me know if you need help. My family can go pick up your necessities and take them to you. Please know you are not alone.
